Why an Annual Appeal?
Exciting changes are ahead for Hatherly. With the construction of our new school underway, our community is growing and evolving in meaningful ways. Along with these changes, the way we fundraise must also adapt.
This year, our approach is simple: if our Annual Appeal is successful, it will achieve more impact with fewer asks from our Hatherly family. And most importantly, every dollar goes directly back into supporting our students and teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.
In the past, the Fun Run was a beloved tradition, an energetic day of music, movement, and school spirit that also raised more than $22,000, which accounts for 40% of our operating budget. While construction prevents us from hosting the Fun Run this year, the need it filled remains. That’s why your direct support through the Annual Appeal is more important than ever.
We kindly ask you to consider making a contribution to the PTO. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference and helps us continue to provide the programs, events, and experiences that make Hatherly such a special place for our children.

As part of our fundraiser, every student will automatically be entered into our raffle!
To show our appreciation, each donation, regardless of amount, will earn your student(s) one extra raffle entry.

WHY DONATE?
Support PTO-funded Mini Grants which have supplied staff with everything from more flexible seating in classrooms to books to enhance classroom libraries.
PTO-funded enrichment programs go beyond the core curriculum, broadening our student’s horizons. Programs in recent years include the collaboration with Holly Hill Farm and visits from artist Rob Surette, Neal Nichol’s Geography Game Show, the Bionic Project, and several authors, among others.
The Hatherly PTO covers the entire cost, including transportation, of exciting field trips to supplement learning in the classroom. Examples include the PLC/ILC’s visit to Sauchuk Farm, 1st grade’s visit to Blake Planetarium, 3rd grade’s visit to Plimoth Patuxet, and 5th grade’s visit to the State House.
The Staff Appreciation Committee plans events throughout the year aimed at showing our gratitude to our amazing educators and administrators at Hatherly School.
Favorite events, such as Bingo Night and Field Day, strengthen the relationships between and among the school and families, and build memories that we hope will last a lifetime.
Other meaningful school contributions including purchasing school supplies for every student during the 2025-2026 school year and investing in library improvements, including fresh paint, rugs, and new furniture for the reading nook.

A donation of $50 provides one student with all enrichment programming for the year.
A donation of $80 per student will meet our Annual Appeal fundraising goal.
A donation of $150 supports all expenses for one student for the entire year.
A donation of $200 per student fully funds the PTO's annual budget.
However, every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.

The success of the Annual Appeal will determine the number and magnitude of other fundraisers throughout the year. Our goal is to raise enough through the Annual Appeal to be able to spend the majority of the year focused on community building events for all of Hatherly.

The PTO Board, in collaboration with Principal Sheahan, creates the budget based on historical data and expected spend for the upcoming school year. The budget is then voted on at the first PTO meeting of the school year, which all are invited to attend.
