The 2026–2027 school year marks Hatherly’s final year, and we want to make it full of the learning, traditions, and fun that our children will remember long after they leave.
Our Annual Appeal helps bring that experience to life. Your donations support enrichment programs, field trips and buses, teacher and staff appreciation, the Talent Show, Field Day, and so much more.
Our goal is simple: raise $22,000 with fewer fundraising asks of our Hatherly families. In place of the Fun Run, this direct donation appeal helps fund the experiences our students look forward to throughout the year. Every dollar raised will be used during the 2026–2027 school year, benefiting our current students and staff.

WHY DONATE?
Beloved Hatherly traditions, like Field Day, Bingo Night, and the Hatherly Talent Show, bring students and families together, strengthen our school community, and create lasting memories that students will carry with them long after their time at Hatherly.
PTO-funded enrichment programs go beyond the core curriculum, sparking curiosity, inspiring new interests, and broadening students’ horizons. In keeping with this year’s “Choose the Moon” theme, our enrichment programs will focus primarily on science and social studies, encouraging students to explore, discover, and embrace challenges.
The Hatherly PTO fully funds field trips, including transportation, extending learning beyond the classroom. Examples from last year include the 1st grade’s visit to Blake Planetarium, the 3rd grade’s visit to Plimoth Patuxet, and the 5th grade’s trip to the Driftway with the North and South Rivers Watershed Association (NSRWA).
Throughout the year, the Staff Appreciation Committee organizes special events and thoughtful gestures to recognize and celebrate Hatherly’s dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff, showing our gratitude for all they do to support our students and school community.
The Hatherly PTO supports special grade-level celebrations and milestones, including Kindergarten’s Teddy Bear Picnic and 5th Grade Recognition, honoring students’ growth and achievements throughout their time at Hatherly.
Other meaningful school contributions including purchasing school supplies for every student for the 2026-2027 school year.

The success of the Annual Appeal will determine whether additional fundraising is needed throughout the year. Our goal of $22,000 will fully fund the PTO’s annual budget. If we fall short, we may need to consider additional fundraisers or adjust planned spending. By reaching our goal, we can spend less time fundraising and more time bringing our Hatherly community together through events and experiences that benefit all students and families.

The PTO Board, in collaboration with Principal Sheahan, developed the 2026–2027 budget in May 2026, using historical spending and anticipated expenses for the upcoming school year. The budget was then presented and approved by a vote at the June 2026 PTO meeting, which was open to all Hatherly families.
